🔄 Midday Moves: Trimming and Planting New Seeds
What I mapped out this morning played out almost perfectly.
I trimmed four positions:
- 🪙 SLV (Silver)
- ₿ FETH (Ethereum)
- ₿ FBTC (Bitcoin)
- 🛩️ ITA (Aerospace & Defense ETF)
These trims generated $536, leaving each position at or just above their target allocation. And yes—SLV retreated a bit after the sale. That’s fine by me. Lower overall value, but higher rate of return per remaining share. Less weight, more velocity.
🧱 New Blocks Laid
I used those proceeds to:
- 📍 Start my UAE block (iShares MSCI UAE ETF)
- ⚙️ Add to MP Materials—chasing momentum tied to rare earth defense investments
- đź‘• Add a small amount to DXLG (Destination XL Group)
DXLG is a very high-risk stock, trading around $1. My son works there, so I’ve been watching it closely. With 725 shares now worth $851, I’m up 5.28%. I’m building this block slowly, aiming to cap accumulation in the low $2,000s, and trim when it passes $2,500.
The company’s in a tough space, but it has solid management and buyout potential—that’s what keeps me nibbling.
📉 Position Check-In
- 🔻 Draganfly (DPRO) is down hard today—but after trimming its fast rise earlier, I’m still up 21.24% on the remaining shares.
- đź’¤ Voyager is hovering near my -20% cut threshold. Since it’s high-risk, I won’t halve the position like I would in a medium-risk scenario. If it doesn’t recover soon, I may just cut it loose and redeploy elsewhere.
🧠Philosophy in Motion
What might seem like small dollar amounts to others are real strategic moves here. I’m always chipping off $500 chunks to build new blocks. These little trims add up fast and give me the joy of planting seeds for future growth.
Starting a new block feels like placing the cornerstone of a new building—or snapping in the first puzzle piece that unlocks the picture.
Markets are still moving. I’ll be back after the close with another update. Let’s keep growing—block by block. 🧱📊
